From my childhood, I have had a love for art and was well known as being 'the artist' at school. My love of photography developed when I started studying the subject at A level.

My artistic flare, already established in my art, transferred across into my photography. It was a medium I hadn't experimented very much with up until this point, but I seemed to grasp all the basics quite quickly. Upon turning 18, I was given my first DSLR Canon camera, which was a significant improvement on my Sony Ericsson camera phone that I used quite a bit for my first year of A' Level photography (my teacher didn't know this). The photographs I took from that point onwards improved in quality and, at the end of my final year of A' Levels, my photography was awarded the Archibald Knox prize.

I went on to study Fine Art at Lancaster University, where I developed my practice as a photographer. The university's computer lab enabled me to develop my Photoshop skills, and, the equipment available meant I could experiment with various cameras and lenses. Over the course of university I became known as 'the photographer', which came from undertaking event photography and taking photographs to promote the degree show. At the end of my final year I was overwhelmed to be awarded the Dean's Prize for Fine Art for my photograph 'Stationary IV' in the degree show.

Currently I am building up my portfolio of work and gaining further experience by assisting other photographers and travelling to photography exhibitions.
